The Woodman's Axe - a constellation

In addition to my standard Summer Camp 2020 Author's note, I'd like to add that this particular article is very much a WIP. It might contain unfinished sections, missing names or temporary placeholders.

The Woodman's Axe is a constellation of stars in Adhonaglamar. It was named like that because of the distinct axe-shape it has. First discovered and revered by the Barohdai of Rohsk (one of the Four Regions of Adhonaglamar), it was them who named it in honour of one of the Four Dwellers. The Woodsman is considered as the Dweller who first roamed in Rohsk and who shaped the Region (see the mythology of Adhonaglamar [STILL TO BE PUBLISHED]).

To the Barohdai, the axe symbolizes strength and safety as well as responsibility. The axe is both a weapon and tool, to be used to defend oneself but also to provide wood for shelter and fire. It should never be handled lightly. Amongst the Barohdai, handing a young man or woman who's come of age their first full sized axe is a special occassion.
As the mythology of Adhonaglamar tells it, the Woodsman used his axe to give shape to Rohsk by clearing certain areas of trees. Thus, he brought light into the undergrowth. This symbolises the awakening of the inhabitants of Rohsk.

The constellation exists of eight stars, forming an axe. Five stars form the head of the axe, three the haft.

The Barohdai use the constellation to navigate. The right topmost star of the axe head shines particularly brightly and is easy to find in the night sky.
Besides its use in navigation, the constellation is often depicted in the native art of the Barohdai. It has even been found in some of the oldest known drawings inside the ancient cave systems near the Boundary of Rohsk.
In more modern times it often returns in star charts used by the engineers and astronomers employed by the wealthy in Rohsk. The constellation is less known in the other Regions.

The constellation is not to be confused by the mythical item of the same name (the real Woodsman's Axe).

Author's Notes

This article was created during Summer Camp 2020 - as such it is a beginning rather than an end; the article will most likely be edited/changed in the future when the world of Adhonaglamar grows. This may explain any lack of visuals or a proper lay-out.
