Kitherek
Every spellcaster is familiar with the verbal components for a variety of spells, and Draconic tends to be the basis for many of these spells. The reason for this is that the innate magic of dragons—of Aevinu—is held in their own words as well. Every pyromancer can feel the power of the first dragons surge through their bodies as they shout “ixen!” at the top of their lungs.
Modern Draconic has gone through many iterations, with even it being a variation of a much older Draconic. Kitherek can be thought of as a “cousin-language” to modern Draconic, a dialect spoken by the Ethrok (insect beastfolk) of Stilholn Forest. Much like Draconic, it emphasizes the first syllable of its words, but Kitherek prefers “k,” “th,” and “x” sounds. Kitherek is often called "insect tongue" because the insects of Stilholn Forest communicate through this exact language. For Ethrok, Kitherek is a sacred language, and it is only ever used in formal situations.
Ethrok speaking Kitherek have vibrato to their words, which serves as the equivalent of an accent in other languages. Without this vibrato, a few words and sentences have different meanings, but there are few enough to where it is not a required part of Kitherek.
"Kitherek is an easy language to learn if you're prepared to kill your vocal cords."‘X’ is considered the most important vowel in the Kitherek alphabet. It is present in over half of Kitherek words and is emphasized whenever it is. When followed by a vowel, it is pronounced “sh” instead of “ks.” To the uninitiated, the frequency of the vowel 'x' can make their words and sentences awkward as they stumble over each syllable. Those teaching the language recommend drinking water before practicing words.- Ka'Rak
