the jewel at the botem of the lake

it is said by some in the forth pack that at the centre of the lake rite at the bottom there is a jewel that glows blue and this jewel not only keeps the lake full of water but also gives the lake water the power not to heal the body but to sooth the mind. it is said that if you float on the lakes surface with your eyes closed then the water will melt all your worries and hardship away however it is warned that you should never float in the lake for to long as the water may take more away than just your worries it can take away your memories as well. it is also said that if the jewel is ever removed from the lake then the water will dry up and the forth pack will meet with disaster however this is unlikely to ever come to pass as anyone who touches the jewel with there bare hands will loos all there memories and will likely drown long before removing the jewel.

Historical Basis

there is indeed a blue gem at the bottom of the lake however there is no evidence that this gem has any actual power and although the water in the lake dose help sooth those who bath in it there is no evidence to show that this is coursed by the gem.

Variations & Mutation

there aren't really any variations on this myth however thoes that tell this myth often only talk about ether the soothing quolety of the water or about what will hapen if the jewel is removed from the lake but not both.

Cultural Reception

to the forth pack this myth is very important and is told to every cub that is born to the forth pack however to the other packs it is mealy a story that has no truth to it and is often ignored or criticised.
