Brow (or Brownie)

Small gremlins that broke off from the Gremlin Horde back in the Elder Days, the Brow often inhabit the farms and homes of the Big Folk. Unlike their gremlin cousins, the Brow hold a special attachment to the homes, farms, and forests, causing them to flourish through the work of their little hands.
Sometimes referred to as “house elves” by the Big Folk, Brow that live among the farms of the Big Folk are quite skilled with their hands, while the Brow of the woods tend to be more knowledgeable and well-traveled. At around four inches tall they are rather short, but they defend their colonies with a fierce love.
Their people also boast one of the strongest military religious orders of the fey: The Twilight Patrol. An order devoted to keeping the sprites from supplanting the Big Folk (which they see as an integral part of Order’s design in maintaining the world), the members of the Twilight Patrol take their post seriously, standing against gremlins, banshees, grindylows, and coblynaureu by the thousands if that is what it takes, and they will do it all without complaining.
Brow have no natural aversions to magic lores, though they tend to favor defensive lores like the Lore of Earth, the Lore of Light, and the Lore of Fire (mostly for their defensive abilities). The magi of the Brow claim that someday in the future they will be reunited in fellowship with the Gremlin Horde, but that day seems to be far in the future….
