Nìtza̰pha̰ta̰l
History
The original Nìtza̰pha̰ta̰l were a resistant group actively working against the Kmetkhalin Empire. After the Empire's retreat, the Nìtza̰pha̰ta̰l turned their efforts toward organizing the survivors left in the city of Nìtza̰pha̰ta̰l.
While their resistance efforts had been led by Osa̰tza, it was her second, Tzosutzunh, who better took to the rigours of organizing civilians in survival situations. Though the situation seemed designed to put them at odds, their surviving Tutzako declared it a sign from the Nitza̰nuk that there should be two competent leaders of the Nìtza̰pha̰ta̰l.
Ever since, Nìtza̰pha̰ta̰l has been led by a pair of monarchs: the Tzanh Oma̰jir and the Katzuk Oma̰jir.
Beginning in the ruins of Nìtza̰pha̰ta̰l was a boon not felt by many other city-states. With their old masters dead, the survivors were free to help themselves to what remained of the city's original resources. The larger challenge was in finding enough willing and able fighters to defend their holdings from other Tzelzì groups who had not been so lucky.
Tzosutzunh eventually solved this problem by cutting deals with some raiding parties. Rather than drive them away, those who could be reasoned with were taken into the holding as soldiers. Properly fed and clothed, they became proper members of society.
