Followers of The Watcher

This religious sect has seldom followers due to the nature of this 'deity'. Most of those who end up worshipping The Watcher do so out of either fear, or the desire of power it may grant. There are few known followers, and fewer still that are alive.    The elven cleric Lara Liatumel inadvertently became a follower of The Watcher after she mistook it for a different God and performed several rituals, allowing it to do its bidding on the material plane.    The most notable follower of the watcher was the Lord Vaaraman Streggyk, also known as The Winged Emperor .

Divine Origins

Origins of this cult date back thousands of years, though there have not been many changes since then. The first recorded follower was a tiefling woman in Faerun who allowed the Watcher to possess her in order to take revenge on those who had wronged her. While the demon did abide by her wishes, it went above and beyond and massacred her entire village stating that "everyone there had wronged her at least once."   The possessed woman then went on to a larger city to wreak havoc, and was eventually captured and exorcized by a local Cleric of Tyr.

Worship

Above all else, the Watcher desires entertainment. It does not matter what sort of entertainment this is, so long as it is entertaining enough to occupy its attention. While chaos and destruction are always welcome worship, the Watcher has been known to accept riddles from followers as well, as long as they are well thought out.

Priesthood

The only known priest of The Watcher was called "Velaris Tarryn" and lived in the city of Aleharel while under the rule of The Winged Emperor . He was a court wizard of sorts, and worshipped the Watcher out of both fear, and the hope that the demon lord could grant him power beyond imagining.    Velaris sacrificed one of his eyes as an offering to the Watcher, which pleased the demon. Since then, it makes this demand of anyone who claims to be loyal to it.

Granted Divine Powers

The powers the Watcher is able to grant come at a cost, but can be fairly substantial depending on the user. These powers include several cantrips, and the ability to cast spells, even if the user has never cast a spell in their life before.
However, the true power behind it comes from when it is able to possess a strong host, especially if the host has potent magical abilities such as a sorcerer.
