Creeping Lily Species in Zolta | World Anvil

Creeping Lily

Colloquially called the creeping lily, Cruentis Folia Solanacea has a remarkable process of reproduction. The seeds of this flower, which is not a true lily but instead is a species of nightshade, can only germinate within the body of a living creature. Creeping lilies are capable of slow, writhing ambulation and have remarkably sharp vines, petals, and leaves; which it uses to create an opening in a creature's flesh and then insert their seed pods into the wound. This parasitic flowering vine will ensnare whatever wildlife stumbles into it's vines and immediately begin slicing into the unsuspecting creature and planting it's seeds. Germination is slow, often taking months for the seeds to worm their way between muscles and begin absorbing nutrients from the host.   The pain of the process is immense, but can be healed with mundane means. Mundane removal of the seed is significantly more painful than the early stages of germination, but in it's late stages, this parasite is fatal. As a result, it is advised that anyone infected by the creeping lily seek medical aid as soon as possible.
