Giant Blue Frog Legs
Giant blue frogs can be found in the more lush forest regions of Zodia Accapia particularly in Aieron Valley . The significance of these frogs is not only that their legs are a delicacy but used as bait for luring out the Ganwynferth. Ganwynferth is a species of giant flying fox that are about the size of a pegasus and also bear similar feathered wings. This species has long been used as a means of travel to and from Aieron Valley to other locales within Zodia Accapia and the valley has a long and proud tradition of taming these beasts. The species in general does remain a wild one, however. The inhabitants of Aieron Valley only take what they need from the valley, no more no less. In so doing it is the responsibility of those that live there to tame a Ganwynferth for themselves. This has been a rite of passage in the valley since time immemorial. It is also an age old wisdom that the only way to tame a Ganwynferth is through its stomach. Giant blue frogs are as much delicacy to people as they are to animals. For these frogs are extremely slippery and elusive. Once the frog is caught it needs to be cooked within the day and then left to dry for another. After this process is done the teenager attempting their rite of passage, usually the equivalent of 18 years of age for a human, goes out into the valley, sets their bait and lies in wait. Once the fox has taken the bait it becomes a very dangerous game of trying to ride a bucking horse, only the horse can also fly and if you’re not careful you’ll end up falling quite a ways down from up in the air. Because of this dangerous prospect the villagers do keep fail-safes in place to prevent deaths and serious injury.
