Draak Materials

The powerful armor and weapon material carved from the bodies of Dragons

Draakbone

Mechanical Benefits

  HP/Inch: 30   Hardness: 10
For Weapons: Weapons made of Draakbone automatically gain the Dragon-Bane Weapon Special Ability, and gain an amount of bonus elemental damage of a type corresponding to the Dragon they came from. The damage depends on on the age category of the Dragon it was sourced from(See table below). This damage is multiplied on a critical hit similar to the "[Element] Burst" Weapon Special Ability.

Category I Draakbone(Wyrmling, Very Young): 1d10 Elemental Damage   Category II Draakbone(Young Adult, Adult, Mature Adult): 2d10 Elemental Damage   Category III Draakbone(Old, Very Old): 3d10 Elemental Damage   Category IV Draakbone(Ancient, Wyrm, Great Wyrm): 4d10 Elemental Damage OR converts half of material's total bonus damage into true elemental damage, bypassing Resistance/Immunity.

Pricing

Category I Weapon: 4,000 GP   Category II Weapon: 8,000 GP   Category III Weapon: 16,000 GP   Category IV Weapon: Not available for common purchase. Must be found and each hand-crafted to exacting specifications due to the extremely tempermental nature of the material.   Draakbone weapons are automatically considered masterwork.
Category I Ammunition: 50gp per Missile   Category II Ammunition: 100gp per Missile   Category III Ammunition: Not available for common purchase.   Category IV Ammunition: Not available for common purchase.   Draakbone Ammunition is automatically considered masterwork.

Draakscale

Mechanical Benefits

HP/Inch: 30   Hardness: 10   Special: Because Draakscale isn’t made of metal, druids can wear it without penalty. Draakscale takes twice as much time to produce as compared to normal armor of that type.
For Armor: A suit of Draakscale Armor or a Draakscale Shield gains +1 to its maximum Dexterity Bonus and its armor check penalties are decreased by 2. Additionally, Draakscale Armor grants a varying degree of resistance that stack with existence resistances to the energy type of the Dragon it came from, depending on the age category of the Dragon in question(See table below). So long as the armor is worn, the wearer gains the enhanced senses of dragons to a varying degree depending on the age category of the Dragon in Question(See Table Below). If the Dragon the Draakscale came from had any special senses, they may transfer to the armor(GM Discretion). Draakscale Shields grant a +4 on saves made versus Draconic Breath weapons, and have no categories.

Category I Draakscale(Wyrmling, Very Young): Resistance 5, +30ft Darkvision, 10ft Blindsense.   Category II Draakscale(Young Adult, Adult, Mature Adult): Resistance 10, 60ft Darkvision, 20ft Blindsense.   Category III Draakscale(Old, Very Old): Resistance 15, 90ft Darkvision, 30ft Blindsense.   Category IV Draakscale(Ancient, Wyrm, Great Wyrm): Immunity, 120ft Darkvision, 60ft Blindsense.

Imperial Draak

Imperial Draak Material is Draakbone or Draakscale sourced from the mythical Imperial Dragons(One of the fabled Progenitors), and is as such indescribably rare on Zheng-Kitar. Its possession is strictly outlawed in most countries unless one has proof that their suit of Imperial Draak Armor was not obtained through genociding one of the legendary and much-beloved Imperial Dragons.   Mechanically, Imperial Draak is almost identical to normal Draak Material with a few key exceptions - those who wear Imperial Draak Armor find their own innate abilities enhanced, growing stronger and quicker and smarter as the armor itself is bolstered, more durable and even more flexible than normal. As such, it is almost never sold and is usually custom-made to order.

Vestige Draak

Vestige Draak Material, the rarest of all the Draak Materials, is Draakbone or Draakscale that has retained the intelligence and personality of the Dragon it was taken from in life - this gear is almost always intelligent or otherwise in possession of innate spellcasting abilities, and is such almost never found on the public market...and when it is, it can easily be expected to sell for the wealth of entire nations as it is seen as a sign one is chosen by the Imperial Dragons themselves. Each Vestige Draak Item is considered a lesser artifact in and of itself, and is almost universally the equipment of great heroes and unfathomable villains, both of great power and legend.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Draakbone and Draakscale resemble large weapons carved from enormous bones, while Draakscale resembles something similar to chainmail in that it is comprised of thousands upon thousands of small, multicolored scales taken from the hides of dragons.   Draakbone weapons tend to be massive, impressive, and overgrown things with large bony protrusions and growths that make each Draakbone weapon much larger than it otherwise would be if made from other materials.   Draakscale resembles beautiful, intricate suits of multicolored scale armor woven together and forged into complete, highly flexible suits that are as resistant to damage as iron and steel.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Draak Materials have many properties, most of them elemental - Draakbone carries the power to slay dragons within it as well as stores of elemental power with which to better strike down one's foes, while Draakscale provides more complete protection and defense against the elements, while simultaneously granting enhanced senses to its wearer.
