Zemiya

Creation Myth   Called from the Darkness of the Before, Kairee the Great Raven flew over the Neverending Sea of all that was, all that is and all that can be. He flew and flew yet found no place to land. Kairee first grew tired, then angry. So angry was Kairee that the darkness of his wings churned the Neverending Sea up into a wall of Past and Future which, at once freezing and boiling with the wind from his wings and heat of his anger, formed a bridge from the Darkness of the Before to Fires at the End of Time. The great bridge was the chord of the All Mother and Kairee the Great Raven knew now what he must do and sang Kraa Kraa so loudly he awoke Mai'a the All Mother from her Past and Future sleep.   Now the great bridge shook as Mai'a wakened, Light from one end, Dark from the other, colliding when they met and splitting the wall into a hundred pieces which fell into the Neverending Sea to form lands and islands, some hot and some cold. Now it was time for Mai'a the All Mother to be angry, for Kairee had ended her rest. So angry was She that she spat on the Great Raven, covering his mighty wings, wings so water logged he plummeted to his death on the newly formed lands below.   The All Mother at once felt sorrow and breathed life back into the giant raven but, lest he wake any more of the Past and Future Gods, She split his giant form into a hundred thousand ravens, each one bearing Her spit,which as the ravens flew in all directions dripped onto the lands they crossed, bringing all Her creatures into being.   Now Mai'a the All Mother was still tired but knew She could not close both eyes to sleep again, for if She did so both Light and Darkness would cease to be. So it was that She now always sleeps with one eye open for She is Day and Night.   As for Kairee the Great Raven, he is now everywhere and still sings his song Kraa Kraa trying to wake the Sleeping Gods though he knows he can not.
