Chirdyn's Hall

Chirdyn's Hall is a central gathering building in a village. For very small villages, it is generally active on Days 3 and 6 of a week in the late afternoon and evening as a general gathering point. On Day 9 it is open all day and into the evening. In these small villages, the building does not generally have a kitchen but instead has tables along the curved wall on which people place food and drink they have brought for the event. In larger villages, they are owned by someone in the village who runs it a bit like a local tavern with food and drink available for sale.

For entertainment, people gather around tables to gamble/game with Zharril Sticks (sticks that are flat on one side and rounded on the other.) The stage is used for entertaining the whole room with things like singing, story telling, plays. The quality of the entertainment varies from paid professionals to children's productions. In villages especially, the entertainment is best on Day 9 and is repeated through the afternoon and evening so that people can gather when it suits them.

Design

The buildings can vary, but are usually D-shaped, with the flat side of the building facing the winter sun. The windows on the flat side start at about 7' (2m) high and continue up for a few feet. The ceiling slopes from the high flat walls down to the curved ones.
Central to the flat wall and jutting out into the center of the room is a stage. Surrounding the stage are tables and chairs. There are long, curved rooms along the remaining walls that contain a kitchen and other food/drink storage.

Entries

The main entrance to the building is generally in the center of the curved wall. There are also small entry/exit doors at either end of the flat wall.

Towns and cities have multiple halls to accommodate their larger populations. Each generally specializes in one or two forms of entertainment.
