Tarensan

The Tarensan was the ancient name of a peoples and empire that existed and flourished in the massive supercontinent that was Zammintar. They spread across the land much as the humans of today do with vast cities, only under one rule. Scholars suggest that the reason for this singular rule was that advancement and knowledge were the peoples foremost concern. Based on depictions captured from scraps of metal work and deciphered texts, these cities stood almost as tall as they were wide with long aerial bridges connecting spire-like towers. The technologies of the Tarensan were equally as bizarre. Many texts analyzed by those within the Thesian Academy suggest a type of flying boat that could take them to undiscovered locations. Similar advances in transportation technology were actually discovered that enabled two points to be linked for a type of instant transportation. The exact workings of this technology however have yet to be deciphered properly, much to the dismay of several widows.   The elves claim these peoples are what are now known as the Rishad. This fact is widely disputed amongst scholars of Eskarina as many archeologists and researchers, particularly some of the most esteemed researchers at the Æriakh Academy, have discovered evidence to the contrary. There is as there always is however a third belief that claims the existence of two ancient races the Rishad and the Tarensan, but after the collapse of the Rishad a chain reaction occurred causing both to fall. Those trained predominantly under the tutelage of elves however see both arguments as a grasp at straws, citing the long lives of elves as fact enough.   Many expeditions have been funded by lords throughout the past several generations, uncovering new information about the peoples and their connection to the humans. It is said that the lords pay handsomely to any who bring knowledge of where a ruin of value may be found. Likewise the payment for the identification and recreation of ancient relics is enough to set most on a life of luxury, though most capable have equally expensive side projects that are funded solely from these efforts.
