Orcs
Orcs a species of humanoid native to the mountains of the Northern Grey Mountains and Southern Grey Mountains within the heart of the continent of Zalas. They are one of the parent species of Half-Orcs along with Humans. They are distinct from the other species of the world due to their brutish nature and large builds. They are typically seen as having average intelligence. They are also known to naturally adept to surviving in harsh conditions and climates.

Geographic Origin and Distribution
The species is mostly found within the Northern Grey Mountains and Southern Grey Mountains in the central part of the continent of Zalas. However, the species can also be found in large numbers throughout the twin islands of Sankor and Tankar.

Major Organizations
The species is not known to be heavily involved within the politics of any of the major nations of the world although there is rumor of a pirate kingdom of orcs on the island of Sankor but most scholars dismiss this notion. Most of the species can be found within the mountains they call home separated into smaller warring clans.
History
The species is thought to have been created by the god Tarsen around the same time as the other species of the world during the time of Great Creation. They are thought to have originated somewhere within the mountains they call home although exactly where is not clear. For the vast majority of the species history it has stuck to its mountain homelands and has been divided into numerous amounts of small clans warring and battling amongst themselves for supremacy. Occasionally a great clan leader will dominate the other clans and lead the conglomeration into raiding the different peoples that live in the lands surrounding the mountains although due to the species shorter lifespan than most and their brutal nature these great clan leaders rarely last for very long.
