The Temple of the Raven Queen
She alone can read what is Fated; She alone must ensure that no mortal or immortal foils what is Fated. She knows when every life begins, and when it must end. The ravens are Her Eyes, and they feast upon satisfaction of cosmic order. Through Her Eyes, She sees the worlds. Through her snows, She provides spring and fresh life. Through her Champion, She makes known her will written in blood. Through Her guidance, She graces us with order and satisfaction where others see chaos.
Structure
Acolyte
The lowest position in the Temple hierarchy, acolytes are initiates into religious service. They are general servants and assistants of the local temple or shrine with only slightly more knowledge of their deity than a common follower. Cleaning the grounds, assisting with ceremonies and rituals, and learning about their chosen deity are the responsibilities of someone in this position. Most people who join a temple or shrine as an acolyte do so with aspirations of ascending the religious hierarchy in service of their deity. Some choose to remain acolytes as a sign of loyalty while devoting the rest of their lives to non-religious pursuits. But an acolyte is rarely a paid position; education and spiritual growth are the sole compensations most people in this position ever receive from the institution they serve.
Vicaprost
The vicaprost is an intermediate devotee to a temple or shrine. People in this position have proven themselves loyal and passionate in their deity's service as an acolyte, so much so that they are identified for higher service in the institution of their faith. A vicaprost is a priest-in-training entrusted with charity work, the performance of one or more lesser rituals (depending on the Temple/deity), and receiving any tithes or donations for their place of service. Some Temples, such as the The Temple of Hestia, allow a vicaprost to train for becoming a Cleric rather than a priest. But most Temples require a cleric become a priest before taking on the additional training and duties required.
The specifics of this position vary greatly between organizations, and may have different titles within their community or Temple. But the term 'vicaprost' or 'vica' is the general theological title for this transitional position.
