Nylvi

Born of the coupling between a Djinn and a Magi, Nylvi was born a sorcerer. With inherent power and ambition, Nylvi’s scheming began at a young age. By the time he was a young man he had worked his way into some inauspicious nobleman's court which he used to perform experiments. While many accused him of meddling in the affairs beyond mortal comprehension, his experiments were the confluence of magic and the manipulation of the natural world. His experiments were fruitful overtime and he was able to greatly increase the fortunes of the nobleman, eventually leading him to become one of the earliest sultans of Tajida.
After an experiment gone wrong, and an unfortunate result with the sultan's favourite horse, Nylvi was outlawed. Nylvi fled into the desert, seeking a source of power in which to further his experiments. His research led him to the caldera of Anuzim, which few remember that beneath the water of Anuzim is an active volcano. One that has not erupted in so long it has faded from human memory.
The survivors of the flight to Anuzim thought Nylvi dead, but in deep in that caldera, he found a source of primordial power which entangled with his heritage. Under the water he built a palace of obsidian and volcanic ash where he controls the currents and weather patterns around Anuzim, bringing supplies and long-term prosperity to Anuzim. The only evidence of his life to the outside world was the glowing primordial power that emanates when he works.
Over time he has recruited external agents, and occasionally makes trips to Anuzim, but remains in work experimenting with the primordial power. Through his power and knowledge, Nylvi has created and supported Anuzim to becoming a bountiful and prosperous trading hub which has dwarfed the petty nobleman that Nylvi once worked for… centuries ago.
