Two thousand years ago, the God-King that ruled over the world was defeated by an alliance between the five most powerful dragons. In his last moment of defeat, Exode cursed the dragon race and in the following centuries, the proud and powerful dragon race lost its intellect and sentience, turning every single one of them into nothing more than dangerous feral beasts.   During the God-King's dark reign, a powerful hero and his allies were able to build a sanctuary by tearing up gigantic chunks of the continent and magically enhancing them to fly, creating floating islands known as the Behemot Islands. With the destruction of the malicious king, the islands' inhabitants became free to build a unique culture.   For the races living on the continent, the God-King's rule was ended only to have the power vacuum taken over by five dragon master. Human slavery was never stopped and all the other races, instead of fighting a single, powerful entity, were now fighting for resources and territory benefiting their master.   On the Behemot Islands, large walls were erected and defenses were fortified against expeditions from those living below them. Mages discovered incredible properties in the crystals that allowed the islands to stay afloat. The discovery enabled a new form of magic, used by artists, artisans, engineers, and inventors, to be developed and exploited for the well-being and comfort of its inhabitants.   The Below and the Behemot Islands are now at a tipping point. It has been revealed by the dwarves that the crystals will be all mined-out in the next 50 years. The islands' rulers have started sending expeditions on The Below to find new sources of crystals or alternatives. Jealous of the magic generated by the Behemot Islands, and now furious about the incursions on their domains, the dragonlords are always looking for ways to bring them down. And they have found it.
