Vetharian Empire

Known for its harsh winters, high taxes, and strict separation of church and state, the Vetharian Empire is a formidable force on Eisoliss.

Structure

The Empire is currently ruled by King Tarren Vethar of the Iron Fist. He is advised by a Council with seven members (eight in times of war):

The Empire is also divided into smaller provinces, each entrusted to a noble family.

History

The Empire began as a tiny kingdom nestled against the Kaulstone Mountains, ruled by King Othra the Fair. Then, King Indran, only the second king of the Empire, decided to abandon the first king's ideals of peace and prosperity to adopt those of war and "justice". He conquered all the smaller kingdoms south of the mountains, but left the Kingdom of Souveran and the Esalion Expanse untouched. Later, King Indran came to be known as Indran the Conqueror. He was succeeded by King Dreszk the Sorrowful, and Dreszk was succeeded by the current monarch, King Tarren Vethar of the Iron Fist.

Demography and Population

The Empire has a population of about 1,250,000. It houses various races, but the most common ones are humans and halflings.

Religion

The Empire does not condone divine magic or any religion, and only a few of the Old Gods are legal to worship within its borders. These are Ba, Hyaos, Karstus, Rezrena, Thaune, Tyther, and Veion.

Foreign Relations

The Empire has tense relations with the dwarves of the Kaulstone Mountains due to their differing religious views.

Agriculture & Industry

The flat, fertile interior of the Empire is very conducive to agriculture. As such, it is an exporter of grain, corn, and other crops.
