WELCOME   A Dark High Fantasy World dominated by Yggdrasil the World Tree. A tree huge and powerful, it's sentient need for light has locked the world (it's namesake) in synchronous rotation. Yggdrasil always faces the sun, slaking her need for unlimited energy. The sun never sets, the seasons never change. Welcome to the magical world Yggdrasil and the Age of Fae-Ri. Terrifying monsters, horrible people and awful violence. Nature without compare, horrific bestiary like giant spiders, giant squid, and dragons as furious hellbeasts straight from the darkest abyss capable of destroying whole cities if not countries. The best you can hope for is Black-and-Gray Morality. Magic Is Evil and often the corruption, or at best relatively neutral. It may well come directly via a deal with the devil, blood magic or human sacrifice. Wars of extinction are not uncommon. In Yggdrasil, the shadows hold unknowable horrors, and a grisly death is just around the next corner. The scales of Good vs Evil are forever tipping, slowly inching in unending cycles. Good conquerors all. Then the corruption of excess and extravagance, lifestyles of extraordinary wealth, unprecedented political power rots and destroys from within. And that which used to be Good is now Evil. Somewhere springs forth new hope ready to make the ascent to downfall...
