the enginsmith [story]

when he was 12, Henry Hinderson stole some alien tech from the IPL and had a successful career as a weapons

dealer. when he was 21, he was caught and was given a major fine. the engineers of the EXEDOUSE1 where looking for highly talented engineers so he joined and made reasonable money. when the EXEDOUSE1 launched, he was appointed as enginesmith, the highest rank of engineers. then he set about organizing the lower decks and engines to produce the most thrust possible. since then, he has apprehended seven criminals, one of them John Fellfly, who he had a bad feeling about.

the enginsmith walked along the long, narrow iron catwalk and surveyed the scene. he was alerted that he was needed on the lower deck TCV12 because of a failure in one of the fuel pressurizers but it was just a burst internal pipe. he needed more experienced workers because the ones he had where always making trouble out of nothing. once he was called for a toxic gas leak when there was just a small explosion in one of the combustion chambers.
