A band of adventurers got together and forged their way Out Yonder. There, they found the planet of Scruffia. Once it was found there was an abundance of Root Oil, and they became rich rather quickly.

History
Scruffy Scruff led the mining outfit that settled on what would soon come to be known as Scruffia. Their first settlement, Darkhole, was an immediate strike, but it was difficult to lure other interests this far down a corridor. The closest settlements were 4 jumps away giving significant risks to corporations seeking to gain access to the materials there. Scruffy was able to convince a few corporations of the value, but 30 years later, his grandson helped discover Root Oil, and with some keen investors, Scruffy Nerfherders Association and Properties, Ltd. was born. They acquired a small shipping fleet and utilized the convoy system to ensure shipment of their goods and ensured the survival and growth of the colony and corporation.
