The Parting

The Parting was a point in time which marked the sealing of the Overlap and the diversion of the deities from the Prime Material Plane. The events leading up to the parting were all categorized into one big catastrophy known as The Great Cataclysm, or also known as just The Cataclysm.   The Parting was so disasterous, that it wiped out over 1/3 of Xalora's remaining population. This mass genocide was worse when you consider the fact that The Cataclysm had already wiped out half of Xalora's population. The global population prior to these events was only 200 million, this left only an estimated amount of 30 million people afterwards. The Parting resulted in the Dark Ages, which lasted ~900 years.   Since The Parting wiped out so much of the population, a lot of ancient knowledges had been lost, although many records, files, runes, book, and scrolls had been recovered through both magical and non-magical means, there are still a handful of things which archeologists are yet to uncover.   A compact and torn book was found upon the ruins of a warcamp in Rasnaron, 9 AP. Most pages of the book were completely illegible or torn. However, a page from the old book had managed to be recovered. This is a translation from Dwarvish to Common

The page off of an old wizards diary. ~150 - 50 BP

Entry No. 371

Day 8, of the 3rd Month, of the Second Year of Krull's reign.

Living here is quite a shame, I have not seen my wife nor my children for 2 years. working under Krull's command, I have yet to see the end of this miserable war.

It seems as though the deities have been battling again, I can tell by the frequent quakes and shifts of weather.
