League of Unaligned Systems

Whilst the Federation of Xah and the Northup Alliance are the acknowledged superpowers of known space, the League of Unaligned Systems is considered the third place (and second rate) power. A loose collection of all those states that have neither been annexed by the Federation in its crusade, nor have thrown their lot in with the Alliance, it welcomes any independent star system or planet under its fold.
The original LUS was a third-rate power that managed to secure independence from the Federation of Xah's control by use of a threat to the Keyhole network
