The Sanguine Spring

The Sanguine Spring is said to have been created by the non-death of Mikoslav Denisevic. Though his existence and role as the first Vampire are not debated, the rest is wrapped in an amount of mystery and legend.   According to legend, Mikoslav became possessed by an Angel and Demon simultaneously. As they warred within him, the two shouted and screamed, driving him mad. For years they fought within him. A somewhat capable caster, Mikoslav tried to banish them from him by connecting to Celestia and Pandemonium. Unbeknownst to him, the extended period the Angel and Demon had spent vying for control had wound the fabric of the two Spirits together. Mikoslav was not powerful enough to separate the two, and, rather than send them away, had his own Soul torn to pieces, leaving only this bizarre hybrid-Spirit in his body. This is said to be the origin of the first Vampire.   After gaining full control of the body, this new creature - one calling itself "Dragil" - resumed the life of the former Denisevic, ruling as Vlädka of Kovia. Dragil was a despot, ruling with tyrannical fervor, as well as being suspected of responsibility for the vanishing of numerous young men and women. As a result, an armed militia tried to kill Dragil but were unsuccessful, most of them slaughtered. This caught the attention of a group of Questers that chased Dragil into the mountains. They fought and killed him over and over, but they couldn't seem to keep him down. They fled for a time, returning to imprison him.   When the time came for his imprisonment, the Questers returned with coffin filled with spikes. They fought and killed him again, hacking him to pieces and throwing said pieces into the coffin. They then chained the coffin shut and buried it. Before they had even finished digging the hole, Dragil, was alive again, pounding on the inside of the lid. He struggled and fought until he died again, killed by the spikes through his body. This happened over and over; he'd return to life, only to die again. After many deaths, his blood began to pool around the coffin. Even after he was thrown into the hole and buried, his blood continued to flow. After days, the blood pooled on the surface, ever flowing.
