Iron Tome

The Iron Tome is the journal and spellbook of Yarn Kyenmanic, said to contain the sum and total of all his knowledge on sorcery. Naturally, that makes this a highly prized artifact. Even non-casters desire it, as it is rumored to contain the key to Immortality - something many believe Yarn to have done, himself. Even beyond that, though, there are a great many spells contained within the Tome and the methodology behind them that have been lost to time. Things no other mortal has ever devised are supposedly written on its pages.
One such secret said to be contained within is the principle that led to Vidad Kyenmanic creating the Unmade. The art of the Unmade was lost long ago, leading many to seek out the Iron Tome in the hopes that it holds the secret to how Vidad did it. Though the likelihood that Yarn made notes on his son's research seems slim, as his teacher, it seems likely that Vidad didn't come up with the magic entirely on his own.
Another is the magic of cosmic travel. When Yarn disappeared nearly a millennia ago, it is rumored that he had died. However, there are many that believe he simply left the mortal realm, having finally solved the riddle of traversing the cosmic barrier. However, this does place a wrinkle in the possibility of ever finding the Iron Tome, as - assuming that Yarn kept it on his person - that would mean it didn't even exist in the mortal world any longer.
