Island of Gelida
West of Central Wuxia is the Island of Gelida, a frozen continent of rocky peaks and icy-blue lakes and inlets. Prone to sudden ice storms, life exists both above and below its frozen ground. The forests of Gelida are beautiful and dangerous, and for centuries, Gelida has been home to mystical snow leopards
To the north is a high mountain range that cradles ancient secrets in its peaks, including the Great Protectorate, an underground city filled with treasures - but guarded by the Monks of Gelida, it's off-limits to all outsiders.
The southern-most coast of Gelida has been ravaged by fire and war... snow never sticks to the ground here, no matter how intense the storm.
The Western Lodge is a popular hunting camp that lies in the western mountains. It is mostly sheltered from Gelida's harsh winds and has grown into a semi-permanent settlement for this reason. Likewise, since the Great Protectorate is off-limits to all outsiders, most travelers seeking adventure in Gelida will sooner or later find themselves stopping into the Western Lodge.
The Western Lodge is home to all kinds of craftsmen, hunters, traders, and traveling salesmen. The Lodge is the only place in Gelida where alcohol can be found, and it is famously served at Terence Tavern.
The Western Lodge has four gates for entering: one on the southern wall, two on the southern wall, and one that connects through a natural tunnel from an underground pool of water.
Down in the valley just to the east of the Western Lodge lies a village of ice fishermen, who seek exotic fish that drive deep below the surface of Gelida's blue frozen lakes. Such fished are highly prized, for their nutritional value, and for their bones which can be turned into all kinds of tools.
