  • Background: As with any world, conflict is inevitable. But in the early days of Wren, war was its defining characteristic. From the genesis of the races on Wren, monsters constantly threatened the safety of all. In time, these creatures organized themselves into villages, towns, cities, kingdoms. They built walls and ramparts to prevent these monsters from threatening their safety ever again. Surely this must be a time of peace? A time of prosperity? No, for as these factions of creatures formed, their one defining characteristic, survival, was no longer needed. Instead, restlessness and lingering ferality caused these factions to resent the others, until one day this xenophobia exploded. On this day, members of the ancient Treilia faction were pursuing a Blight that massacred an outer settlement of farmers. At the same time, members of the Patrulea faction were stalking the Blight to find its commanding Gulthia tree's location to burn it. The Treilians succeeded in catching up to the Blight and burning it to the Patrulean's chagrin. Flabbergasted at the naivety and foolishness of the Treilians, the Patruleans thought they were conspiring against them. Hidden in the trees, the Patruleans killed most of the Treilians, leaving three out of the party of 52 to escape. The surviving Treilians returned home to describe the horrors of the Patruleans. This lead to a cascade of events causing one of the most brutal wars of ancient Wren: The War of the Arches. Upon the first attack by the Treilians on the Patruleans, sufficient ardentia was released so that a miniscule ancient order of wizard-monks, known as the Calugar, performed a rite of actualization, creating Ruzbar. Ruzbar was the sixth deity to enter the world of Wren, and has a profound impact today. Ruzbar values strength, bloodshed, and glory in battle.   Blessings offered: Ruzbar offers the use of his broadsword and helmet, as well as buffs to Athletics and Acrobatics
