Folie, God of Euphoria

  • Alignment: Chaotic Good
  • Domains: Carnivals, Parties, Dreams
  • Items: Grapes, metal claws (on left hand)
  • Symbol: Upward curving line reflected and connected, with a downward semicircle on top
  • Background: When the societies of Wren developed more and more, the sentiments of fear and cowardice receded, leaving positive ones in its wake. As culture blossomed under the creation of the twin gods of Mirar and Meserle, parties and carnivals started to appear to celebrate the culture of the nations of Wren. In this sudden bloom of entertainment, happiness soared to uneasy heights. This new kind of ardentia motivated the Grand Council of the Arcane to initiate a new rite of actualization. This resulted in the creation of Folie, the God of Euphoria. Folie values actions that put the good of the individual and those around him above everything else, even the law. Folie also values a really well-thrown party.   Blessings offered: Folie offers buffs to performance and persuasion, as well as the use of his metallic claw and grapes.
  • Claw of Folie (copy): Hyperactivity: Increases the wearer's movement by 20 ft and allows them to perform an additional action on their turn. Infectious Laughter: Charming or fearing a target causes other enemies in the area to also become charmed/feared (within a 10 ft radius)
  • Claw of Folie (original): Hyperactivity: Increases the wearer's movement by 30 ft and allows them to perform an additional action on their turn. Infectious Laughter: Charming or fearing a target causes other enemies in the area to also become charmed/feared (within a 10 ft radius). Talons of Euphoria: Dealing slashing damage to a charmed target with the Claw of Folie deals a large amount of damage, this effect spreads to all other charmed targets in a 40 ft radius.
  • Grapes of Folie (copy): Heavyweight: The player is unable to get drunk. Renewed Joy: This effect can be used 10 times before the grapes will be destroyed. Eating a grape will reduce the level of exhaustion in a player by two levels.
  • Grapes of Folie (original): Heavyweight: The player is unable to get drunk. Renewed Joy: This effect can be used 20 times before the grapes will need to grow again (takes a week). Eating a grape will reduce the level of exhaustion in a player by three levels. For the Needs of Euphoria: This effect can be used once every month. The grapes of Euphoria can be sacrificed using divine fire (the grapes require at least three grapes to remain for the sacrifice to work). This sacrifice will reduce the grapes to ash, at which point it will start regrowing. The sacrifice charms all party members and monsters in a 60 ft radius for 30 minutes, while also increasing each of their max hit points and current hit points by 50, and increasing movement by 30 ft.
  • Curses offered: Folie's curses range from nerfs to performance and persuasion, to more large-scale effects:
  • Inappropriate: If the party falls into a certain level of disfavor with Folie, the party will burst into laughter at any sudden event, gaining disadvantage on any rolls during the event.
  • Dreamscape: If the party falls into a certain level of disfavor with Folie, the member with the most disfavor with Folie will have his dreams hijacked by Folie, making them so wonderful the player does not want to wake up. Indefinitely, this player will remain asleep until party favor is improved, or other creative means are used.
