Wyikroi: Six-Sight/Star-Sight

Transmission & Vectors

While this condition is often found in old Werai, as time goes on it is increasingly found in younger individuals of the Werai species.

Causes

When a Werai's eyes are overexerted, wrinkle patterns develop between the three eyes, and parts of the skin press themselves against the bone. If all three divots between the three eyes are felt, the body newborn development programs, inactive for decades, reignite and develop three new eyes in the divots. The new eyes work perfectly well, but now a new set of input is competing for the Werai mind's attention.

Symptoms

Aside from the (literally) glaringly obvious extra three eyes, Werai with Wyikroi have trouble walking. When reaching out for objects, they display perfect depth perception but erroneous direction. Oddly enough, this makes them considerably better at drawing perfect circles, and many keep their Wyikroi untreated for artistic purposes.

Treatment

Werai often find it best to cover one set of three eyes, either through paint or tape. Covering the old set and embracing the new set means that the light receptacles can see much clearer and without as much muscle ache. However, the new eye set, depending on the construction, means that the images which the brain receives are one of 60, 120, or 180 degrees off from their original counterparts. Patients with newly taped eyes often have trouble walking and limit their eye use to half of the waking day. Many subjects, understanding that their pain tolerance is the same before and after the affliction, cover up the new set and maintain the status quo. Because technically any set of three eyes can produce a full picture, a number of oddballs choose to keep an assortment of both old and new eyes, though the time they take to adapt is considerably longer.
