T'kra Katourkrau: Sect of Sacrifice

Cosmological Views

The world was created by a single entity. Who it was is unknown to the sect, so many refer to the creator as Te Owt'kai. The work was perfect, but entropy soon collapsed the paradise. Te Owt'kai mandated that the imperfections be wiped from its world, and the T'kra Katourkrau took it upon themselves to make the world whole again.

Tenets of Faith

The KTK didn't know the precise definition of imperfection, so they first stuck with the most apparent and distinct variants: rape, murder, and theft. Anyone and anything caught committing these crimes were to be put to death. In instances where the criminal would not, or could not, commit a crime again, the imperfection could, through ritual, be transferred over to what the KTK considered to be an innocent animal, for example a weroiki. That creature would be slain to eliminate the imperfection, and the criminal would be released without any additional repercussions.

Priesthood

The primary leadership of the KTK were twofold. The first part were a series of managers, people who would keep the populace calm and prevent witch hunts. The managers would determine what and which actions counted as imperfection, and they would consult with researchers around the world to hone and improve their faith. The second part were a series of judges, who alone would determine if the suspect was guilty of a certain crime. Their culture was characterized by solitude and prayer, so that they could not be swept away by the bloodthirstiness of the crowd or the corruption of the criminal underground.

Political Influence & Intrigue

The T'kra Katourkrau, while vigilantes, did keep local townships safe from most forms of egregious crime for free, so most higher-level governments tolerated them. Villages who were partial to them used the sect to supplement the law enforcement, while the law enforcement of antagonistic town councils often butted heads against the KTK judges and management.
