Good friends and enemies,
You know me as Hut Rarei, the Marshall of the Tuhrau Defense Army. Know that I know that you have called me coward in times of the past. Manifest any regret you have now as submission to our organized defense. The enemy nears our lands; we cannot afford grudges. Our nation can yet save herself, for we now comprise the nation's army. Already the enemy is confounded in their attempts to set foot on our western shores, but I seek the power to wipe their invasion from Wouraiya entirely.
I require the following from you:
One out of every seven defenders in your garrison, fully armed and equipped for battle,
For my personal and elite guard, the best select soldiers you can spare, save those for the defense of your settlement,
What food you have stored for disaster or a poor harvest; truly there is no greater need than now,
The products of your people that you can spare: shoes, blankets, clothes, anything that can be spared and used.
Gold and riches have no place in my designs. Once I drive the invaders, I will return for their compensation.
We are told that victory belongs to the strong. Rejoice, then; the weak elements of our society, the over-ambitious generals and their lackeys, have thrown themselves against our foes and purged themselves from Tuhrau society. You, the Gra'estar, have retained peace and order on the continent for centuries, the pinnacle of endurance. The strength of endurance will deliver us to victory. Your loyalty was never to the generals, but to the people under your care. The world no longer kneels to Tuhra, but Tuhra will kneel to none.
Signed,
Marshall Hut Rarei
