Currency of Kene

Or the concept of.

The concept of currency has existed since the Mythic Era, with Dragons exchanging precious minerals to purchase servants, food, and land. In the most specific sense, currency is money in any form when in use or circulation as a medium of exchange, especially circulating banknotes and coins. Different nations utilise different methods of paying for good and services, with different methods of distribution also attached to each different race. The Common market shares the following Common coinage, though their value may have significant differentiation across the sphere; these refer mainly to: Copper (cp,) Silver (sp,) Electrum (ep,) Gold (gp,) and Platinum (pp.)

Humans

Humans, until recent eras, have not had much use for currency. Now, with the height of an Empire being felt across the sphere, money is one of their most powerful assets; not only internally but also being used for trade with their major allies. Human's concept of currency falls into the use of coinage, valued on the Common market in relativity to the worth of the gold make-up of "gp." Though many places across the human Empire have different vernacular for their geopolitical coinage. Typically gp found in the Empire can be referred to as "Crown," while gp found in Ledas is often referred to as "Sol", depending on value.

sp /10 Florin Sigloi
ep /2 Half-Crown Stater

Dwarves

Dwarves have had a long established relationship with money, since even before the unification of the Dwarven Kingdom, due to their constant mining of precious minerals. Inflation now kept in balance by the Council of Gilded Dvelk, Dwarves main currency is upheld by the trading of ep, as to not devalue their current gold market. Dwarven exchange being more relative to the gold make-up of gp, being much stricter in the value of goods and services with their equivocal gold value - presenting further reasoning as to the use of electrum.
Kharzenfaal Dvelk
Dwarves from Khazenfaal are renowned for their precise business practices, having developed The Dwarven Rules of Acquisition, which have been adapted on many other continents of the sphere. Kharenfaal Dwarves are known for being the most stingy, many having the outlook on life that "Something is not simply done for nothing." Every minor act or aid given to a fellow Dwarf writes the unwritten contract that something is owed in return.
Dasarin Dvelk
Dwarves from Das' are much more varied than the Dwarves of their homeland, and will operate solely on the Common Market due to the eclectic number of races Das' has to offer. Many Dwarves here still list and name the Rules of Acquisition as a mark of prestige when trading with neighbours and allies.

Elves

The Elven concept of currency has remained long unchanged; presenting tokens or written cheques to represent value stored in the form of commodities. Interaction with the Common market is kept to a minimum on Evalon, unless an Elf is a merchant or traveller they have rare need for the use of Common coinage.
High Elves
High Elves do not make use of Banks or Monetary Societies as other races do, but instead when a cheque is presented, it is representing the buyer's store of Myiith held in temple grannies.   Due to their long lifespans, typical transactions span a few days at the least; the seller being presented with a cheque, the seller will then provide the buyer with a receipt and will go and check the validity of the cheque. Once the validity has been confirmed the seller will summon the buyer to return with the receipt and present the product as agreed upon. This process is seen as nonsensical by many of the other races, including the Wood Elves, however it has been maintained unhindered for many generations of Elves and will likely continue as such into the future.   If for any reason a High Elf demands goods or services "right now," it is often assumed that the transaction is of the utmost importance - with many sellers willing to accommodate their kin and provide them with necessary product without payment.
Wood Elves
Wood Elves operate using coinage, however they are very fond of bartering for objects, and trading other commodities in the place of money. Wood Elven coinage resembles leaves, flowers, and animals depending on the value of the coin.   For many Wood Elves, transactions can be turned into a battle of wits and jovial trading suggestions, having a very lighthearted approach to currency on their homeland. These exchanges are more often seen between accustomed merchants with familiar patrons with long-lasting goods and services. Naturally, Wood Elves enjoy going out for meals, drinks, rides, and seeking out quick relief services.

Gnomes

Gnomes pay for things in "Dkama," very to the point, the coinage does not present any shibbolethic names, instead simple being referred to as "Copper, Silver, Gold Dkama, etc." The gold make-up is identical to that of coins found on the Common Market, thus many settlements and merchants are happy to trade between the two currencies regardless of the seller's or buyer's nationality.

Halflings

Halfings mint their own coins, as most races do, however the gold make-up is identical to the Common Market and trade is synonymous between the two.   Known for a love of extravagance, Halfling ideals on wealth are steep; many items for sale in Halfling settlements are often found to be more costly than others. An easy example would be Halfling Meed, costing as much as 1 gp, where in Human settlements the product can be bought for an average cost of 5 sp.

Dragonborn

Dragonborn detest the use of gold in their homeland, a choice significant to their cultural heritage stemming from the time of the Dragon Breach, where the Ancient Gold Dragons provided the knowledge of how to banish the Ancients from the mortal plane.   In Draedurond they operate by "The Silver Standard," paying for items and services using silver and platinum, with occasional use of copper and electrum. Outside of their homeland many Dragonborn accept the lack of cultural association of gp and will trade with the coinage only if required.
