Set in the modern world with a few kingdoms of my own creation or adaptations of modern countries. Mainly in Britain and Norway-like-countries. Where in the latter land of sea and mountains the royal family still holds most of the power. Even though they share parts of government with a high council of prominent Lords or military generals. The royal family, for their lack of offspring, is large and connected to the many noble families though some are closer than others. As they have been close to the royals since childhood. Even a few outsides from Britain are known friends of a few royal family members. Yet with families of two powerful countries intermingling, does politics mix well with a personal life. Or are you forced to sacrifice one for another? And will that come back to haunt you later?
