The Way Hall

History:

Located in the City of Sixpoint's, The Way Hall is the seat of power for the Wayfarer's Guild. The Way Hall is built on the structural remains of Kade Herwin's original homestead. It serves as a dedication and Memorial to Kade Herwin, who is recognized as the founding father of The Wayfarer's. As Herwin was an avid painter and sculptor, much of the Way Hall is decorated with his personal works of art. They chronicle the discoveries and accomplishments of the guilds many members. Though many struggling artists have tried to pick up that mantle, very few have had their works displayed beside the Great Kade Herwin's

The Hall of Discovery holds many of Herwin's original pieces. Eighty-eight paintings line the walls of the Hall of Discovery, all growing in grandeur and leading towards the Wayfarer's most notable painting; The Purple Chick's of Mordent's Mount. This painting memorializes the discovery of the lost city of Mordent's Mount by the Purple Chick's Company of Wayfarer's. The image itself, is an interpretation of the Purple Chick's battling the Bronze Dragon that called Mordent's Mount home. The skull of the dragon, often referred to as Mordent, has been furnished into a large seat, often used by the Starbreaker of the Wayfarer's.

Leadership of The Way Hall

Starbreaker

Though the term Starbreaker is a recognized title passed down from one leader of the Wayfarer's to the next, Starbreaker refers to the legendary weapon that accompanies the role as much as the title itself.

The Title

Though the guild had many leaders before the title of Starbreaker was born, all who held the position are recognized as Starbreaker's. That being said, the first official Starbreaker was Elissari Yaru. Ellissari Yaru, had the large, but unimpressive Battle Axe commissioned in preparation for a quest that would lead her into the heart of a fey vein. Though she was lost for many years, when she returned, the weapon she wielded was as impressive as the feats she accomplished. She quickly gained the support of many within the guild and was voted into the highest seat of leadership shortly after. Holding the position until her death, The title of Starbreaker, and the Starbreaker Battle Axe, have been passed on to every leader since.

The current Starbreaker, Hamish Flanagan, is a leader of decent renown. Though many feel that the Wayfarer's guild has faltered in the years since his coronation, few have voiced interest in taking the role for themselves. The position itself, has few responsibilities. Though the Starbreaker may be called on to settle matter's of civil unrest amongst the guild, much of their responsibility lies in keeping the flow of quests and contracts in circulation. They rely on the Children of Peruse to research and identify items, creatures, and points of interest for the guild. This constant governance, requires that the Starbreaker remain within the walls of the City of Sixpoint's, but even that has been known to cause issues. Many believe the Starbreaker should remain within the Way Hall walls at all times.

The Weapon

The battle-axe known as Starbreaker was born of humble means and intent. Commissioned by Ellissari Yaru before one of her early Wayfarer quests, the weapon was forged by a novice blacksmith for a modest sum. Much of the original detail work of the piece is gone, now replaced by imbued ruins of arcane energy. The weapon has changed greatly from it's humble beginnings. Many even argue that the weapon was replaced many years ago and that the modern Starbreaker bears only the name in semblance to the legendary weapon. One thing is for certain; what began as a simple, iron weapon became one of the most desired battle-axe's in all of Volkyr. Still in the presence of the Guild, the Starbreaker is now wielded by Hamish Flanagan, the present leader of the Wayfarer's.

Children of Peruse

The Children of Peruse are a Fellowship of Wayfarer's who are more interested in the research of lost cities and relics then the field experience of the average Wayfarer. The number of members on this esteemed research fellowship varies, but there have been few times in history when there were less then a hundred recognized Children at a given time.

Though they hold no official power over laws or governance amongst the guild, one only need submit a portfolio of their abilities in scholarly research to be considered. These considerations are held monthly, and acceptance is determined by a majority consent.
