Aurumopolis Settlement in World of Wizard's Peak | World Anvil

The Gilded City is the financial center of the Kirinal Concordance Zone, the clearinghouse for Molndalian foodstuff and goods, and the home base for hunters in the Anomalous Forest. House Molndal always has a keen eye for money making endeavours and they have turned their canton of the Zone into another profitable enterprise for themselves.

The House has invested a lot of money and time into their newest concept, the Concordant Defenders League, which they have based in Aurumopolis.

The Gilded Way

Aurumopolis' main street goes north to south from the Pit Gate to the Halls in the south. In the north it is lined with businesses and features the Aurumopolis Stock Exchange.

As it passes the High Table's Castle, it takes a more festive nature. The southern stretch is full of brightly lit and extravagant casinos, restaurants, and high-class brothels.

High Tables Castle

The headquarters of the High Table.

Golden Hill

The residential district of the city for the middle and merchant classes. The truly rich reside in hunting lodges with easy access to the Anomalous Forest.

Living spaces for the lower classes and servants lucky enough to live inside the walls of the city.

The Holy District with the two main churches being devoted to Rampol and Charos. Other gods have smaller houses of worship.

Wool Road

An industrial district devoted to receiving and processing goods from merchants and salvage from the Pit.

The Cannery

The portion of Wool Road outside the city wall is called the Cannery. Leather makers, butchers, and meat packing businesses are located here to reduce the stenches that can go into the city. The workers here are usually Unnumbered Mechani-kin who are easily repaired when damaged by the dangerous machinery.

Kirinal Concordance Zone

The Kirinal Concordance Zone was created around the Kirinal Pit to act as a buffer zone to defend against interplanar invasions. The Pit is a 30-mile hole in reality that chaotically manifests a different world or plane at random times.

Eventually, the people of Erathia tamed the Pit, setting it on a schedule so that an ordered succession of planes would appear over the Days of the Week.
