Honey of Samm-Puul

The Fortress-Monastery of Samm-Puul was founded 80 years ago after the peat bog was discovered to have a portal to the Labyrinth Between Worlds that led to the Demesne of Bog (among other places). Believing they could create superior bees, and therefore honey, from the magickal demesne, the monks built the fortress.   The foundation of the cult’s activities is the propagation of bees - Tallorba teaches that without them all life on Weirth will die. They also study the hexagrammatic nature of the honeycomb. There are many uses and derivatives of the honey/honeycomb:
  • Queen’s Jelly
  • King’s Jelly
  • Essential Crystals
  • Mead
  • Sympathetic Wax Magic
In addition to bee-keeping, the Rhontines have become experts in Cartography, Landscape Painting, Botany, Viniculture, Oenology, Gardening, Bonsai, and Poetry.   Two years ago, after the battles with a cult of evil chaos, a fire opal (with unknown magical properties) once belonging to the Cult of Keuthonymos was brought to Samm-Puul for safekeeping. The priests who brought the gem were waiting for another group to join them with a second artifact of Keuthonymos’ cult. They were planning to carry both into the Labyrinth to be hidden. The second band of couriers never arrived.   The status of the monastery and the marvelous honey and mead it produces are unknown at this time.

Guilds and Factions

Cypress of the Bog-Mother: a lone cypress tree is left standing upon this isle. It is about 80 feet tall and 10 feet in diameter. There is a ring of knees around the trunk, four to six feet in height and a foot in diameter. This is the Tree of the Bog-Mother, a wilderness spirit that has dwelled in this place since the Cataclysm. The monks discovered her Avatar while excavating the crypts below the monastery. Two great heroes of this order lie below, in the embrace of the Bog-Mother. It was thought they would return in the hour of need, alas, this was not the case.
