World of the Five Gods
The World of the Five Gods is the setting for an RPG campaign. It starts in the Weald, a Celtic-inspired fantasy land which is trying to become strong enough to prevent invasion while maintaining the core of its traditional culture. It's magics are rooted in nature and spirits and sacrifice.
Beyond the Weald is a world of high magic, steampunk technology, and mutant psionics. Greatly different than our own world is the system of practical theology that pervades magic, religion, and culture of every nation.
This world setting borrows heavily by the setting of Lois McMaster Bujold's Five Gods series (with her permission), but adapts it to use with a homebrewed D&D4E game system. It also adapts elements from the the Iskryne trilogy by Elizabeth Moon, Dune by Frank Herbert, and various other wonderful worlds.
