The Lunar Celebration of the Great Cat Goddess

History

This event has been going on for so many generations. It is hard to identify the true origins behind the ritual. The Tabaxi live on the Goddess's Savannah, and they live to please the Great Cat Goddess by providing gifts and treasures every time there is a dual full moon of both Thorn and Vinter. They find great honor in providing the best gift to the Alter for the Great Cat Goddess. It is rumored that the Great Cat Goddess would come to the alter personally to acquire the bounty.

Execution

The hunt for various gifts for the Great Cat Goddess is the best part of the Tabaxisociety. They will spend days, months, and even years trying to find the best gift. Once a Tabaxi finds a great gift, they know of their responsibility to present it at the next offering at the Alter for the Great Cat Goddess.

Components and tools

The main attraction for this event is searching for your own gift. So you can place it on the Alter for the Great Cat Goddess. The only item that the elders are required to bring each year is the great bundle of feathers. The various Tabaxi Clans will bring their young to participate in a mini hunt. This bundle of feathers is hidden around by the clan whose cubs won it the last Luner Celebration of the Great Cat Goddess. This is done to show unity between the New Moon Clan and Pale Water Clan.

Observance

When a clan member's item is chosen to share with the Great Cat Goddess, the entire clan holds an elaborate 3-day feast. The first day consisted of a hunt for all cubs preparing to leave the clan next season. The cubs race to sees a great bundle of feathers hidden by the elders. On the second day, the item is presented to the Great Cat Goddess. The cub that finds the great bundle of feathers is revered by the clan as they give their offering to the Great Cat Goddess. The entire scene was mesmerizing. The final day is filled with feasting and catching up with other members before they set off again. This happens four times a year.
