Am I King or not the King?

Dinod was born in a Dwarven royal clan, the Ironfist Clan. He grew up during one of the most oppressive times for his people. Even though his father was considered King of Romation. The people couldn't do anything to the above Kingdom of Mount Roma. These were the results of the Revolt of the Half-Kin and the signed treaties. So basically, his father ran a puppet kingdom.

Enough is Enough

With Ziva Battlehammer, Prince Dinod got the Romation Dwarven Trials established again. The King of Mount Roma banned them after The Revolt of the Half-Kin. Some simple and subtle changes were not approved by the Kingdom of Mount Roma. So Dinod and Ziva Battlehammer started sending official scouting parties as part of the test of mind tactics. Here members of the local guards picked up the term Obsidian Scouts. They would move in the dark of night and scout out the surface city of Mount Roma. Prince Dinod gathered many years of intel on the surface city of Mount Roma. Until the fateful day, his father died, and he was crowned King.

Refusal of Royalty

At his coronation, Dinod publicly denounced the ways of the crown until Romation was free. He also declared that Romation will need to be run as a council until we are free. My trusted friend Ziva Battlehammer, my spouse Raga Ironfist and I, along with Panjec Fireforge, would become the first council of Romation. The citizens at first didn't have faith in Dinods way, but his actions spoke louder than words. The council fought for more freedoms for their people, and it was improving for those in Romation.

Crushed Hopes

Everything was going well for Romation until the second great war. The political leadership in the surface settlements changed, and generals lost. Dinod also heard that the beloved sights of the metallic dragons were no more in the skies from time to time. Dinod's oldest daughter Burgga Ironfist was kidnapped by sewer-dwelling Goblins. While searching for Burgga Ironfist and tending to his peoples' needs, he would chat with Marget Mynge and other frequent travelers to the Cat's Lodge. Here he met a brash and bullheaded Dwarf with some strange friends. This happened to be Chaim Rokkeshod, Siberian of Daarden, and Eldon Badger Scheppen. They were seeking information on one of the old kingdoms, Rhineforrel. So, Dinod invited them to Romation but didn't tell them; he was one of the rulers of Romation. Dinod noticed that these adventures had more noble desires than seeking out sewer Goblins.

The Spark of the Inferno

Dinod knew these adventures were something more than sewer scrapers. A fellow Dwarf seeking out Rhineforrel sounded like another noble Dwarven Clansmen. So he tested these adventurers in one of the first Romation Dwarven Trials since the formation of the council. When it came to the test of tactics, Dinod was highly impressed with the commanding nature presented by Chaim Rokkeshod. These adventurers, during this test, disclosed their true intentions, and Dinod realized they were the spark he needed to bring hope back to his people. He quickly gathered the citizens of Romation and continued with the final test of the trials. Those that underwent this trial before this typically didn't do it unless they sought to honor it. The highest degree of honor Dinod wanted to give these adventures was Generals of the Romation Liberation. Their goal is to circumvent the plans of the Silver Shadow Clan's influence in the Kingdom of Mount Roma. These adventures did more than that once they secured the capital of the Kingdom of Mount Roma. They didn't claim it for themselves and decided to give it back to the people as a council. This council would represent all of the races, not just one race. The citizens of Romation couldn't have been happier in their true King Dinod Ironfist.

For those wondering. Burgga Ironfist was rescued by part of the adventurer group known as the Talons. This is the same group Chaim Rokkeshod, Siberian of Daarden and Eldon Badger Scheppen founded. They didn't seek her rescue, just stumbled upon it and the furry of Eldon Badger Scheppen's hatred for Goblins.
