S005C01 - Session 5

General Summary

The party found themselves getting ready for the main event of the Carnival that night, a show involving a Manticore.
Kaladin, being worried about the Manticore, set out to make sure that the creature was being properly handled. The Carnival Goblins, had instructed that they use a powerful poison to subdue the Manticore and that this would be their method during the show.
Khepri, had went off to collect a bunch of poison face screaming plants for a group of dancers. However, upon learning that it was poisonous she burned the bag when she delivered it to the dancers. However, the dancers were reluctant and refused to speak their actual intention with the plant.
When Darts delivered the poison to the Carnival, Kaladin, had the intentions to poison the Manticore lethally. However, his efforts were stopped and the Manticore received a proper dose of the poison. When the show started, Kaladin, Khepri, and Luyaris all attended. Sitting among the crowd, they watched as a phantasmal show was put up in front of them. A show of magic played out before them.
Luyaris, stepped into the show and was snatched up by a seemingly familiar presence, however, the entity began to attack Luyaris in some kind of dimension of darkness. By the time the show had ended, Kaladin and Khepri had taken notice that Luyaris was missing. Upon examining the Big Top's center, they found a port into the same dimension as Luyaris.
After much struggling in this situation, Luyaris was able to break the dimensional projection and reveal his assailant. Kaladin, and Khepri, helped Luyaris fight off his assassin, despite the assassin almost succeeding in killing Luyaris. Upon his death, they began examining his body for anything that would identify him. Although the Assassin did not have anything physically distinguishing about him, they did find a note written in Slave Common, a language spoken like common, but written completley differently. A written language created by a group of people who could not read or write themselves. Their own version of common.
