Waganuoke

The Waganuoke are a species creatures sharing resemblence between both the canine and feline species. The work of the Waganuoke has been sung of for years, as their place alongside Heroes and Kings placed them in legends protected even to this day.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Waganuoke on all fours has a full height of around 2 meters, or roughly 6 feet, and can be nearly as long. Their bodies resemble an enlarged tiger with the facial structure of a wolf. Its claws and teeth are both as sharp as a blade, and strong enough to puncture armor.

Growth Rate & Stages

Birth: At birth the Waganuoke is as small as a kitten and can hardly move. It relies heavily on the parents to care for it, and its siblings to protect it. Early: After a few years the Waganuoke grows to roughly the size of a large hunting dog, and is strong and smart enough to accompany knights on small works of land defense. (Often officers adopt young Waganuoke so that by the time they are of age to train and patrol, they can have the assistance of a terrifying companion.) Often these years require a lot of training to have a companion in the Nuoke later on, and also require considerable amounts of food. Young: The young Nuoke are at this point the size of a small riding horse and can carry about the same weight. Often Knights can begin riding their companion Nuoke. Adult: At adult age the Waganuoke begin to grow a tougher outer layer of skin that hardens with age. Bits of chitin begin to grow in spots around the face and along the spine and stomach. Around this age, the Waganuoke begin to exhibit signs of their physical magic. Elder: Once the Waganuoke has reached a exceptionally old age (45-50 years) it begins to slow in physical prowess. Often the tenacity of its past fight begins to leave and, if the original companion hero is still alive, become a more relaxed and regal means of transportation. Their magical control only grows with age, but they often only live to about 55 years old.

Dietary Needs and Habits
