Aglver Mountains
The cold and unwelcoming mountains of Aglver. The mountain range is known to be many adventurers last resting place for it's harsh cold, savage monsters, and avalanches. Despite the threats there's a thriving dwarf population that reside there. Along with them are goliath, giant, and goblin communities scattered throughout. There are a few outposts above ground but the majority of races that can't survive the cold live within the many caverns inside the mountains.
The dwarves that reside here are known to drill into the mountains to create their towns. Two largest caverns they could find they continued to expand until they could fit their kingdom within. They provide the majority of the continent's precious ore and gems. There is such an abundance and variety that it's believe that the mountains was once a domain controlled by a dragon that was buried under the mountains.
The goliaths are the most scattered around the range. They are often seen in the villages at the border of the Aglver Mountains and The Great Stretch. They're mostly friendly to adventurers, but a few tribes deep in the territory are wary to outsiders. There are many dwarves that will sing high praise of their goliath friends while others see them as possible threats. The goliath have been known to refuse to let the dwarves mine within their tribes territory. Since then dwarves have been trying underhanded tactics to get the goliaths to forfeit their land.
Goblins and a minority in Aglver Mountain. They mostly live in the natural caverns, but due to dwarves expanding into them some tribes have been forced to vacate or be wiped out. Since then, the mostly shy goblins have been forced to scavenge outside at the mercy of the weather and adventurers. The goblins and goliath are on good terms with each other, some have even merged after the goblins fled their home.
While not as commonly seen as the other regions, lycanthropes still survive in the unforgiving cold temperatures. The lycanthropes here are hardy and are known to join tribes of goliaths, causing further tensions with the dwarves. Werebears and werewolves are the most well known, but recently a large community of werebats have taken refuge in the mountain caverns.
