Helm of Containment

The Helm of Containment was crafted by the elves for an old empire warden nearly 250 years ago. In exchange for this magical gift that permitted the warden to magically contain his prisoners in addition to the armed guards and walls of his prisons he was to hold variety of fae creatures captive. Beings too powerful to safely contain within the feywild itself as their very existence corrupts the fae around them.
This prison was located near the old capital city of Ethilia, but when the darkness came the warden was overwelmed by the creatures he had held captive. The eternal darkness permitted a few of them to regain their powers and overcome the power of the helm. For a brief while the helm was lost to history being held by these strange fae creatures. nearly 50 years after its disappearance it returned to the light being worn by a powerful warlock. This warlock was tasked with capturing and holding important leaders of the other Estmerian cities in a bid to spread the influence of his Fae master.
An Estmerian captain was forced to face the warlock in an attempt to prevent his city's fall to the influence of the dark fae masters. He barely survived and ended up using the helm to lock the warlock within his own manor house. While this doesn't end the threat from the dark fae attempting to spread their influence within Ethilia it does hold it at bay for the time being while he attempts to rally the Estmerian lords to face this new threat from the dark.
There has seem some talk of attempting to enlist the aid of the elves in recapturing their old charges, but no concrete effort has been made yet to accomplish this.
