Culinary Recipes from across Ethilia
The major cultural groups within Ethilia prioritize very different sets of food and have as a result a very different set of culinary traditions.
The Wilscan people, the oldest ethnic group within Ethilia, work primarily with foraged native plants and the occasional hunted animal. While the WIlscan people have grown to adopt farming techniques introduced to them by the Estmerian people they still prioritize farming native plants rather than adopting the new crops brought to Ethilia.
The old empire focused almost exclusively upon farming. The people who associated with the, like the Estmerians, ended up adopting farming heavily as well. The older aspects to the Estmerian culture focused on herding and animal foods. The Estmerian people tend to have a very meat heavy diet with crops forming the back drop to most of their dishes.
Finally the Seaxe and Norscan people share a fairly similar set of culinary recipes. Both focus on a very sea based diet, preferring to what they can fish over the other forms of food gathering. They do prize hunted animals, but those are reserved mostly as feast materials or rare occasions.
The other races of Ethilia have their own dietary preferences as well. Usually not as well known to the lesser degree of contact between them than between the different human elements. The Elvish people are known to, with a few exceptions, eat a primarily plant based diet that they grow in a uniquely magical way. The Dwarves have a heavy reliance upon mushrooms as part of their day to day diets. The Dragonborn are known to hunt and eat a strange set of scaled animals, rare to find in this age, but still found to a small degree. While the Dragonborn will eat other things they prize those animals meat above all else.
