Clothing Materials Ethilia

Due to the cold climate of Ethilia thicker clothing is the norm. Thick wool or layers of cotton are common for almost every walk of life. In the northern edge of Ethilia there is often a transition to hide and furs to keep off the nearly year round cold of the environment. The nobility will often have fur lining for all of their clothes except that their high summer garb. Travelers often favor hide garments for its warmth and ability to withstand the other weather elements that are quite common to assail Ethilia.   The Seaxe and Norscan are well known for their elaborate furs of strange beasts found only in the distant north. The Seaxe have over time started to adopt the garb of the Estmerian people. The transition has been slow, and the Seaxe nobility still cling to the elaborate fur garb that they were accustomed to. At times they wills end hunting expeditions into the north to find the strange creatures they use to make their clothes. This practice is rarer now as Ethilia has grown darker and filled with terrors of the night.   The Wilscan people wear a strange garment, almost woven of plant fibers. On occasion Wilscon people will be found gathering plants in the depths of the wilderness found still in areas of Ethilia. Attempts made by other people to replicate the clothing of the Wilscan people has always failed when compared to the authentic item. Their clothes are wonderfully thin but warmer and tougher than just about anything else that can be found.

History & Usage

History

The furs and hides of the Seaxe and Norscan are closest to the oldest forms of clothing used within Ethilia. While the process has been refined this is widely understood to be the traditional garb. The new materials that the Wilscan now wear are something that they have created only recently, a trick they learned perhaps from some fae source.
