Naming Traditions
Unisex names
No Wildling sept assigns names based on gender--rather, they borrow human terms for their link, and separate names on a species-basis instead. For example, a youngling linked with a bear might have a 'bear,' 'ursa,' 'bjorn,' or 'osa' in their name, or one linked with a wolf might have a 'lup,' or 'louve.' If an elder is particularly expectant of a youngling, they might be named for an ancestor.
Family names
While the Mamailidyr'me do not take family names, instead referring to themselves as the child of their mothers, oftentimes a Lidyr sept will have its own name, and a Lidyr will take that as a name as well.
(I am Orsephi of the sept Sobretha, daughter of the venerable Ravune)
