Wraithblood

Outside Agitators

As he spoke, wind started to whisper through the streets. His words took purchase in our minds, and soon the murmurs hidden by the wind rose to a chorus of agreement. To them, he certainly was a wraith. To us, he was a pure agent of justice.

A somewhat common hybrid blood, Wraithbloods are gifted a mixture of Songblood and Stormblood. Like many hybrid bloods, this usually manifests in a combination of both, highly specialized but also incredibly potent. For Wraithbloods, this is the manipulation of large groups. Primarily, they are known to cause unrest, but skilled Wraithbloods can compel a crowd to do amost anything.

Tasks & Functions

Among the mostly lawless pirates, Wraithbloods are usually self-employed. They can approach a captain and ask for payment in return for a 'calm working environment', i.e. not using their abilities to cause a mutiny.
Mainly, Wraithbloods are employed by Clans to upset their competitors. They will pose as Songbloods or Stormbloods, gain purchase within the Clan they have been employed to disrupt, and start stoking the fires of dissent.

Payment & Benefits

Wraithbloods have the capacity to be some of the most wealthy people of Nokte, however, they are also at much higher risk. No captain wants a mutiny, and so some might try and deal with the problem before it arises, often with extreme violence.
Wraithbloods are almost exclusively employed by the Major Clans, and they get all the benefits of that upper-class status. As specialists, they also are much better able to bargain for better working conditions than the majority of the workers of Major Clans.

Legality

The Empire

While no sorceries are technically illegal in the Empire, a few have simply ceased to exist in recent years. Wraithblood is one such magic that apparently has stopped surfacing in the veins of Imperial citizens, despite continuing to exist elsewhere. This prompts many to believe that the Empire is 'disappearing' Wraithbloods, making the sorcery illegal in spirit, if not in name.

The Trade Union

Because of the volatile nature of Wraithblood magic, Free World sorcerors with this strain of magic in their blood must have a license, as well as a 5-page addendum to the Writ. To protect their more secretive line of work, only Trade Union Officials are permitted to see who holds such licenses.
