The Wandering Symphony Hall

A night of Endless Bliss

To be honest, I barely remember my time aboard. It was like one long night that never seemed to end. Best year of my life, by far.

The Empire's most popular music group, Jubilation of the Stars, travels throughout the Blue on their massive skyship known as the Wandering Symphony Hall. True to its name, it does function as a concert hall for the band when they stop at various cities and towns, but in between venues it is more of a pleasure cruise for the group and their companions. Jubilation employs a large number of Songbloods to ensure that they are both celebrated wherever they go and their tickets highly valued. After all, who would not want to spend time where it impossible to feel anything but bliss?

Appearance

The Wandering Symphony Hall is a truly impressive marvel of modern engineering. The sleek form of its hull has several, very large windows that look into the main concert hall, allowing the Hall to bathe wherever it sits in the lights of the show inside. On top of the ship, shaped around three large exhaust pipes, are a set of buildings modeled after the Imperial Palace, though they are made of painted and textured wood and steel instead of stone. Painted on the back of the hull, on either side, is a large mural displaying the Jubilation of the Stars mid-concert.

Interior Features

Most of the space inside the ship is taken up by a concert hall that can seat close to 5,000 people. The remaining space under the deck is largely used to for keeping the ship afloat. The buildings on top contain most of where people stay during trips between islands, and feature the following rooms:

Banquet Hall

The largest non-concert room is a combined dance and dinner hall, fashioned after the lavish parties thrown by the Nobles on Ilysium. For wealthy commoners, this is the closest they will ever come to experiencing such opulence.

Game Room

This room is usually much more familiar to the people that purchase or are given the right to travel aboard, as it more closely resembles the inns and bars of smaller towns in the Blue. Unlike those small establishments, these games are not rigged, and patrons can play as much as they like.

Pleasure Room

Some rare few manage to catch the eye of one of the band members, and for this they are rewarded with a trip on the Wandering Symphony Hall. The only price is spending some time in this heavily pillowed room with the one who brought them onboard.

Concerts

The primary purpose of the ship is to host concerts. When she arrives, she will sit above the town for up to a week, while the Songbloods on board whip the populace into a fervor of excitement. When the doors finally open, the tickets are sold out almost instantly, and the concert starts soon after. Concerts can last up to six hours, after which the band retreats to the other parts of the ship, often bringing members of the crowd with them.
