Giantspeech

It is a well known fact that giants inhabited Frampia back in the day. The most common evidence of this is the remains of Giantspeech that can still be found carved into boulders and caves all over the empire. The language is crude by modern standards, lacking some of the nuance of more refined speech, but even so, the immense strength of the giants means that there is room for more flowery words in the stone carvings than one would expect from lesser beings.
Not all of the ancient language has been deciphered, but much is translated, and it is generally thought that most of the monuments around the empire were erected as memorials, either for individuals or for events that were important to the giants. One such event is the myth of behind the Creation of the Norhel River that is located on several large stones erected along the banks of the river.
The text in caves is often less celebratory, and seems more likely to be the personal scribbles of whatever giant found their way inside. Many of writings on cave walls are simple declarations of love or promises of revenge, a way to note down debts or reminders of events of personal significance. Some of the caves seem to have been workshops for individual giants, filled with notations or long ranting poems, that may or may not have been meant to be shared.
The one thing that is not to be found on any of the writings is the fate of the giants. Their disappearance remains a mystery to this day, and while some of Frampia's enemies claim the empire wiped them out, the empire itself maintains that the lands were empty when they arrived.
