Blood of Giants
The people of the Frampian Empire are known for many things, but one of the few things that you can only find in Frampia is half-giants. The Frampians claim that these are evidence that the blood of giants courses through all Frampians, revealing itself in particular individuals. Despite the condition clearly being genetic, there is no evidence that children of one or even two half-giants inherit the condition. Instead it seems to appear completely randomly in families across Frampia. The half-giants themselves are much larger than regular humans, most growing to more than ten feet in height, with the girth and strength to match it. They often find themselves working with physical labour due to their strength, but the half-giant children of noble families are often educated right along with their siblings and peers.
In Frampian society, half-giants are generally accepted, and though not common, they rarely cause much of a stir when they show up. But outside of Frampia this is another story. In many parts of the world, they are practically myths, and any half-giant travelling abroad should expect to be met with equal parts awe and fear. This is particularly true in the Caprian Empire that lies to the south of Frampia. Here the memory of armies with units of half-giants leading the charge still inspire terror in most of the populace.
Generally the half-giants live as an integrated part of Frampian society, but there are a few insular communities that consist solely of half-giants. One of these is located at the base of Dragon's Rest and is known for the exquisite metal work they produce. While the community accepts visitors and customers, they allow residency solely for those with the half-giant traits, even going so far as to banish children without the trait once they reach maturity.
