Robinson Special Training Company
Overview
The Robinson Battle Academy is one of the premier training facilities of the Federated Suns, funded rather heavily by the Sandoval family. As one of the larger families sworn to the ruling House Davion, they command a great deal of respect and support training new MechWarriors to fight one of the traditional enemies of the Federated Suns: the Draconis Combine. This mentality filters through the academy in a pervasive manner, and tends to color the perceptions of those who graduate from Robinson.The Special Training Company was assembled from names in the top 15% of the current graduating class, primarily from those the Sandoval family could trust would have no questions of loyalty. After assembling the roster of MechWarrior cadets, a number of reserve officers from the Robinson Rangers were called upon to form the officer cadre under Major David Sandoval. Taking the Knight-Errant Union-class DropShip, the Swift Leopard-class DropShip, and the Cobalt Steed Gazelle-class DropShip, they set out in late October of 3031.
White Reach Operations
Major Sandoval made landfall in late January of 3032 and intended to pick a fight with the Draconis Combine forces on the planet surface. After a brief skirmish with the Fourth Legion of Vega, they regrouped and intended to move with the Sanglamore Battalion. However, they had inadvertently interposed themselves into the area of operations where the Lyrans, Auburn's Lancers, and the Harbingers had been fighting continuously. Unaware of their identity, the Harbingers assaulted a portion of the Robinson cadets and pushed them back to their DropShips.As they were getting prepared to evacuate the Orenn theater of operations, the Harbingers made the decision to finish them off; they managed to catch one of the Union-class DropShips before it had fully loaded and an intense battle ensued. Following this, Commander Dupree took the prisoners he had taken and offered a simple choice: join or die. After two 'MechWarriors and two technician teams agreed, the rest were quietly given a faked execution and left outside Vernier City to find their way off the planet. Major Sandoval decided to leave a message to travel ahead of them as they retreated from the Planet, and finally lifted off on March 6th, 3032.
Aftermath
Following the disgrace on White Reach, with the loss of so much materiel, Major Sandoval was reassigned to other operations. Most of the cadet members of the unit were permitted graduation. No further information is available at this time concerning the disposition of Cadets Jacqueline Padilla or Arnold Wooster.External Links
